Cedar Lane has a proud history of leadership throughout our denomination and the Denominational Affairs Committee is Cedar Lane's primary link with other UUs.

• Our monthly meetings are open to all and attending them is a wonderful way to find out what's going on at other UU churches and organizations in our area, throughout North America and, indeed, worldwide.
• We recruit delegates from Cedar Lane to the annual business meetings of the Unitarian Universalist Association ("UUA") at its General Assembly and the Joseph Priestley District of the UUA ("JPD") as well as to the monthly meetings of the Greater Washington Association of UU Congregations ("GWA"), and recommend our delegates' certification, when it is required.
• We organize congregational polls, meetings and workshops relating to general and special resolutions.
• In the past we have hosted candidates' debates preceding continental and district elections and, with 2001 being an election year, expect to do that again.
• We regularly host meetings of the GWA and conventions of the JPD.
• We provide some financial assistance to our delegates to General Assembly.

We always need help in these efforts and always welcome new members who care deeply about our denomination.

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee does important work around the world.
