I am honored to serve as Co-Chair of the UUA’s UU Poor People’s Campaign Leadership Council who will advise the UUA and organize UU participation, including for:

Stay in Place, Stay Alive, ORGANIZE: A Call for Moral Non-Cooperation

The Campaign writes: "Trump and other extremists are again calling to 'reopen the country.' Over the past week, many states have begun to ease restrictions on stay in place orders. These plans to reopen the economy show no regard for human life and are prioritizing the greed and profit of the few over the health of the majority. We cannot be silent as poor and marginalized people are disproportionately hurt by these policies. This moment calls for all people of conscience to come together to call for moral noncooperation, to stay in place, stay alive and organize, organize, organize!"

The Campaign is calling for 50 Days of Action, including the upcoming Digital Mass Meeting on May 28, 2020, 8:30 PM ET (live-streamed from the Poor People’s Campaign Facebook page), all leading up to the June 20, 2020, Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington. You can register as a UU for June 20 here. (Note that this is a customized registration link so we UUs can network).
