The Alliance First Friday Book Group has been meeting since 1999 and currently has about 20 members.
In February of each year, members submit book titles. In March, the group votes for the 12 books that they would like to read. The votes are tallied and then a monthly book list is created. Book lists are often a mixture of fiction and topical non-fiction.
Book group members are asked to volunteer to bring a desert to share with the group for one of the 12 months. And members bring their own lunch to enjoy while discussing the book.
The book we will read for discussion on June 1 is When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro.
All members of The Alliance are welcome to join this group!
