The general meeting is a potluck lunch on the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through June. Lunch at noon; talk at 1 pm. Examples include a report from the annual Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly, an annual Holiday Sing-a-Long, etc. It was a varied set of programs designed to attract different interests. Please bring a dish to serve 6 to 8 people.

ROBERT McCAW, GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR
Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
Mr. McCaw will discuss the activities of CAIR, a grassroots civil rights and advocacy group. It is America's largest Muslim civil liberties organization, with regional offices nationwide. CAIR's national headquarters are on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. He will talk about CAIR’s government affairs department, which conducts and organizes lobbying efforts on issues related to Islam and Muslims. The department monitors legislation and government activities and responds on behalf of the American Muslim community. CAIR representatives have testified before Congress and have sponsored a number of activities designed to bring Muslim concerns to Capitol Hill.
