Beloveds. Cedar Laners. UUs. It's Time to Shine a Light on Detention Camps this Friday.

Join Rev. Abhi, area-UUs, UUSJ and many others this Friday, July 12, at 7 pm at the Lights for Liberty Vigil at Lafayette Sq. Park, fronting the White House to shine a light on the abuses of the current administration in detention camps.

Click here to see the many, many nationwide local events, including five metropolitan areas.

For the DC Vigil, UUs are invited to gather at 7 pm, NE corner, at or near the statue of Brigadier General Thaddeus Kościuszko depending on crowd size (check out the location on Google Maps here). View the Facebook event for UUs here.

The Plan:

People will begin arriving at 7 pm local time at many locations around the nation. At five main locations, legislators, activists, and organizers will speak until 9 pm. Then, at 9 pm local time, at every detention camp, and in cities, towns, and homes around America, a silent sea of candles will light up the nation.

More info:

Please do not bring wax candles. They are not permitted due to DC park restrictions. PLEASE DO bring an electric candle, flashlight, or candle phone app to participate. Thank you!
