The Racial Justice Ministry Team presents a two-part discussion about the changing role of police. Join us. Learn how you can help create a safer police department, and safer Montgomery County, for all of us.

 

Monday, April 12, 7:00-8:30 pm:

We will discuss the NPR podcast "American Police." This program reveals historical racial implications of policing, and how that history influences racial bias in policing today. Please listen to the podcast before April 12 (NPR.org/transcripts/869046127)

 

Monday, April 19, 7:00-8:30 pm:

A speaker from Silver Spring Justice Coalition will discuss how systemic racial bias in the Montgomery County Police Department has necessitated efforts to transfer some policing responsibilities to other county departments.
